What Climeo does, and what it does not

Climeo rearranges what you have already written so it reads better and survives an automated screening system. It is a careful editor, not a ghostwriter. This page says exactly where that line falls, because it decides how much use the product will be to you.

What it will never do

Climeo will not invent a fact about you. Not a qualification, not an employer, not a date, not a metric, not a skill, not a responsibility you did not describe. Every improvement is a rearrangement of words you wrote, and every proposed rewrite is checked against your original before you see it. A rewrite that introduces a number your CV did not contain is discarded rather than shown to you.

There is one deliberate exception, and it is still bound by the same rule. If your CV has no professional summary, Climeo will write one from facts already in the document — your most recent job title, the employer you held it at, and how long you have been working. It says nothing about your strengths, your character or your ambitions, because none of that is in the file you gave us.

What it assumes about your CV

Where it will disappoint you

Climeo can only improve writing that exists. If your experience section is a list of job titles with no description of what you did, there is almost nothing for it to work on, and it will tell you so rather than pad the document out.

The most common version of this: a CV with no achievements under each role. Climeo can see that they are missing and will say so, but it cannot supply them, because it does not know what you achieved. The same goes for a missing education or skills section.

If that describes your CV, you will get far more out of Climeo by writing a line or two under each role first — what you were responsible for, and anything you improved, reduced, built or delivered. It does not need to be polished. Rough sentences are exactly what Climeo is good at fixing. Structure, spelling and phrasing are our job; the facts are yours.

What it is not

If something looks wrong

Climeo reads CVs written in a great many layouts and gets some of them wrong. If a role, a date or a heading has been misread, we would genuinely like to know: hello@climeo.dev. A description of the layout is enough; please do not send us your CV.
